Elrohir Peredhil is a Canon Character from The Tolkien Legendarium. Characterization is heavily based on headcanon, but founded in the following works by J.R.R. Tolkien: The Silmarillion, The Lord of the Rings (FOTR & ROTK) with Appendices, and The History of Middle Earth. Additional inspiration is taken from The Complete Guide to Middle-Earth by Robert Foster.

Twin Sons of Elrond, Elrohir & Elladan were born in Rivendell during the Third Age. Both he and his brother are tall in stature with dark hair & grey eyes, so alike that few can tell them apart.Elrohir, known as Star-Rider, is a spirited half-elf with a dry sense of humor & wicked aim. Prior to the War of the Ring, he battled Orcs in alliance with the Rangers, then served as a scout for his father while the Grey Company traveled to Lórien. Elrohir joined the Company of the Ring & passed through the Paths of the Dead, fighting alongside Aragorn both at the Battle of Pelennor Fields & at the Gates of Morder.With Sauron defeated, Elrohir attended both the coronation of Aragorn as King & his wedding to Arwen.

Elrohir is a friendly enough Half-Ef, known for stirring up mischief with his twin, Elladan. He smirks easily, but bears a dry sense of humor (the sort that some might misinterpret as solemnity). Elrohir is far less studious than his younger sibling, preferring to master physical skills over the scholarly. He bonds strong friendships with people of good character, taught by his father to reject the racial prejudices often inherent in High Elves. He is also fiercely protective of those he deems worthy, to the point of being fearsome in battle.

The eldest twin son of Elrond and Celebrían, Elrohir was born in the early years (approximately 139) of the Third Age. Both he and his brother, Elladan, grew to be dark-haired and grey-eyed half-elves, and were said to be so similar that few could tell them apart. Their childhood and early adulthood was happy, spent in the company of loving parents and the children they sometimes fostered in Imladris.In the year 2509, Celebrían was journeying to Lórien when she was waylaid in the Redhorn Pass and captured by Orcs in the Misty Mountains. Elrohir and his brother rode to her aid. They succeeded in rescuing their mother, but not before she suffered torment and poisoning at the hands of her captors. Though the poison was cured, the horror of Celebrían’s ordeal drove her to sail into the West in the following year. The physical and emotional suffering of their mother left Elrohir with a visceral hatred of the Orcs, and both he and Elladan would travel Middle Earth, hunting them down in alliance with the Rangers.In the year 2933, Elrohir rode against the Orcs with Arathorn II, the then-Chieftain of the Dúnedain. He and Arathorn were longtime friends and adoptive brothers, as the human had been fostered at the Last Homely House in his childhood. Unfortunately, an Orc-arrow struck Arathorn in the eye and killed him, an event which Elrohir witnessed. The Chieftan’s death left his young son, Aragorn, fatherless. So Elrohir saw Aragorn fostered by Elrond at Rivendell, and within a few years he too joined the Twin Sons in their adventures.During the War of the Ring (roughly year 3018 of the Third Age), the both Elrohir and Elladan acted as scouts for their father, sent together to Lórien to confer with Celeborn and Galadriel (their grandfather and grandmother, respectively). When the Company of the Ring came to Lórien some months later, the Half-Elf reconnected with Aragorn and his distant/adoptive cousin, Legolas Greenleaf. Elrohir later joined the remnant of the Fellowship himself, riding with Elladan in the company of Halbarad and his Rangers until they caught up with Aragorn, Théoden, and Éomer. They passed together through the Paths of the Dead, and Elrohir felt the fear of potential mortality in his bones. When it came time, both Sons of Elrond fought beside Aragorn once more, in the Battle of the Pelennor Fields, and at the Gates of Mordor. Elrohir would survive to see the destruction of the One Ring and the death of Sauron.After the War, Elrohir was present at Aragorn's coronation, and then rode north with his brother Elladan to meet their sister Arwen and escort her back to Minas Tirith for her wedding to the new King. Following these happy events, the twin brothers returned to Rivendell, living there for a time and continuing to flush out the remaining Orcs of Middle Earth. After his father departed from Middle-Earth, sailing in the West, Elrohir was faced with the same decision: To depart over the Sea to the Blessed Realm? Or to remain Middle-earth, and become Mortal.
